First Nation Health
Our First Nation health services allow for easy, quick, and personalized access to primary health care that is culturally sensitive and respectful of traditions. An emphasis is placed on prevention, education sessions, and group interventions.
Access to Care
We help patients navigate the health system and find the proper services that meet their individual needs.
Mental Health Counselling
Our social workers offer individual therapy services. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), solution-focused brief therapy, psychoeducational approach, mindfulness approach, and traditional medicine wheel teachings are the most commonly used treatments at NAFHT. We also have access to psychiatric services at the request of the doctor and the social worker.
Hospital Support
On-site support from our Patient Navigator and First Nation Liaison is offered to all patients who are admitted to the local Hospital or who visit the Emergency Department.
Traditional Healing
We organize consultations with a traditional healer for patients who request such services.
Cultural Training
Our Patient Navigator and First Nation Liaison is trained and certified to offer cultural sensitivity workshops and education sessions.
